Traveling Side Show

Well here we are back in the some what warm St. George, UT area. We started out our work trip in Twin Falls, ID replacing two heat exchangers that had gone bad. After that we headed north to Kent, WA where we installed the coping, tile, and the equipment at the Hampton Inn & Suites we have been working on. All that is left to do is plaster, and then start it up. :)

We then drove over to Federal Way, WA to check on another Hampton Inn & Suites we are supposed to start. They are about 2-weeks behind schedule so it looks like we will be starting sometime in the middle of January 2010.

From there it was on to Spokane, WA to drop off our trailer full of equipment and pipe. That is our next hotel pool to start on. We are waiting for the permit from the local and state health dept. Oh what a fun time they are. Haha.

Hmmm the next stop was to be Helena, MT but due to the weather and the high temperature of the day was below zero, everybody has pulled off for some time. We will get back up there to lay the pool/spa out so the excavator can get it dug. That is looking more like the end of December before that gets going.

Well there ya have it.... I do hope that everybody has had a good Thanksgiving and will be having a great Christmas and Happy New Year! :)

You Get What You Pay For!

Well not always, most of the time you really don't get what you think you are getting. We at Liquid Creations, Inc. would like to think that as we present our proposals to the prospective client that we are not only trying to sell them a spectacular oasis in their own backyard but are educating them in this bidding process.

Yet lately the more and more that we are bidding, it is only coming down to the price ($$$$$) on the last page of the proposal. What customers are not seeing is the meat & potatoes of what is being proposed to them. They are not seeing the fine print of "What is not included" or not knowing what is actually include as they do not know yet what a control panel is compared to a timer clock.

Most swimming pool contractors that are left here in our wonderful city of St. George, UT do like to educate the customer on what they are getting for the money they are paying, but there are contractors still out there that when they present a proposal to a new customer they are presenting them with the most basic pool and or spa that they can think of to get the lowest price in front of the customer. We here at Liquid Creations, Inc. always propose the top of the line pool & spa with all of the bells and whistles included. From color changing lights to wireless remotes to large heaters and especially customer service from day one to long after the pool is completed.

As a prospective customer, please do not fall into the now so common trap of getting you to sign a contract with the lowest proposal price out there and then have the contractor get more money out of you by saying "Oh that wasn't in the proposal" or "Oh if you want a heater that is an upgrade"

When it really comes down to it 9 times out of 10 after your pool and spa are done you could probably look back and find out that the contractor that gave the "Lowest Price" really wasn't the lowest price after all. That contractor makes money during the project with change orders or upgrades.

Take a little extra time to sit down with a contractor and look over all of the proposals line by line and actually see the "Meat & Potatoes" of the proposal and not just the final number at the end. It could save you time and heart ache as you create the oasis you have always been dreaming of in your own back yard.
